Acre Creek Waterfall
Binghamton, NY

In a world where we are often drawn to the biggest, the boldest, and the most spectacular, there is something to be said for finding joy in life’s simpler pleasures. This two-stage waterfall, with its quiet grace and understated charm, reminded us of the importance of appreciating the little things.

While visible from the highway in Binghamton, New York this waterfall was took a bit of hunting to find. After spending an hour driving through the surrounding country past barns, forest and rolling hills we finally located our target and got some good pictures.

On Acre Creek, which runs along Loughlin Road near the highway overpass was the ten foot waterfall. With two stages of white foamy cascade down to a small pool, it is elegant and simple. It does not appear to be marked on any maps or have a specific name. It may be on private property, so use caution if you visit. We took our pictures from near the road.
